For mouthwatering farm-to-table cuisine, head straight to Pago. Offering New American meat and vegetarian options, Pago uses ingredients sourced in Utah to provide a purely local dining experience.

Blocks from downtown, local favorite Café Niche has a modern vibe. The American-Cafe style cuisine is exceptionally fresh, natural, and sourced from local ranches and farms.

Located downtown, another must-try local fare spot is From Scratch. As the name suggests, they make all of this authentic Italian cuisine entirely from scratch, and we mean all of it, including pasta, ketchup, jams, and even pastrami!

Mexican

The Mexican food in Salt Lake City does not disappoint. From delectable food trucks to charming sit-down establishments, your choices are plentiful.

If you’re in the mood for top-shelf Chinese cuisine, make your way to the widely popular Red Maple Chinese Cuisine. With an abundance of appetizing dishes, this award-winning local favorite is your go-to for authentic Chinese food.

Native American

Looking to try something new? Make a beeline for South Salt Lake and Navajo Hogan to enjoy Native American food prepared with the freshest ingredients. Make sure to try the traditional Navajo tacos and some sweet fry bread.

Indian

Vegetarian and Vegan

Zest Kitchen & Bar is a plant-based restaurant and bar in downtown SLC with seemingly endless vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options as well as an extensive plant-based drink selection. It’s important to note that Zest Kitchen & Bar is a 21 and older establishment. 

Another fantastic vegan restaurant in the Vertical Diner. Located four blocks from the downtown core, you’ll not only find great ambiance, but a fully plant-based menu with vegan wings, vegan cheesesteaks and burgers, vegan desserts, and so much more.

Veggie House serves up delicious vegetarian and vegan Asian cuisine in South Salt Lake. It’s the perfect place to order your favorite Asian dishes with meat substitutes like soy chicken, soy beef, soy shrimp, or tofu.
