For anyone coming to Salt Lake, we hope to answer concerns or questions you might have, give ideas for things to do while you’re here, address any meeting or convention updates and safety protocols/travel restrictions.
Current Status/Travel Restrictions
Utah now uses the CDC Community Levels tool to help everyone identify when a community is facing low, moderate, or high risk from COVID-19. Since the tool uses counties, here are some of the Utah counties and the cities in them to help you:
- Salt Lake County: All of the cities featured in our neighborhoods
- Summit County - Park City, Kamas
- Wasatch County - Heber, Midway
- Utah County - Provo, Orem, Springville
- Weber County - Bountiful, Antelope Island (Great Salt Lake)
- Davis County - Ogden
If you are traveling to Utah from another U.S. state, there are currently no travel restrictions or quarantine requirements if you are healthy.

Where can I get a COVID-19 test?
We understand that many places require a COVID-19 test within a couple of days or less before you can travel back to that location. The State of Utah has a comprehensive list of available testing sites
To make sure that the test you take meets your requirements, please check the guidelines for your location and then call the testing site(s) you are interested in using. They can verify what kind of test(s) they offer and how long it will take for the results to be available.

Attractions & Historic Sites
Most attractions in Salt Lake are open including zoos, gardens, theme and water parks, Olympic venues, and historic sites. Search through our Salt Lake offerings to check individual attraction’s web pages for up-to-date information and mask and social distancing policies.

Open Spaces
Salt Lake is set in an area of great natural beauty, and as such is perfect for vacation activities in wide open spaces, allowing for safe social distancing.
Parks & Trails
With many city green spaces, neighborhood parks, and hiking/biking trails that lead through the local mountains and canyons, getting outside and seeing nature up close is perfect for a get away vacation. Safety protocols are still recommended for keeping safe distances and wearing masks when social distancing is not possible.
State & National Parks
There are over 60 national and state parks within a few hours drive of Salt Lake, making it a perfect place to jump off for a socially distanced get away in beautiful locales. Meetings and Conventions Updates
Attendee health and safety is a priority to everyone in Salt Lake County. Operations at the airport, hotels and convention center are all in compliance with the health department guidelines. Over 120 restaurants and bars are offering take-out or dine in service, and ordinances are being eased to allow additional outdoor seating. Movie theaters are open with social distancing parameters, and the hotels are experiencing a continual rise in occupancy. The team at Visit Salt Lake can offer multi-venue and outdoor options for social distancing with livestream to ensure your needs are met.
