Natural History Museum of Utah at the Rio Tinto Center

  • pin_drop Map & Location
  • format_align_left Overview

With the health and safety of our Museum community in mind, the Museum will be closing to the public effective Friday, March 13 through March 27. In consultation with the University administration, we will reassess as needed.

As the Utah state museum of natural history, this top attraction provides an introduction to the science in Utah's remarkable landscape. With engaging exhibits, the Museum features Utah's remarkable paleontology discoveries, fascinating gems and minerals, preserved artifacts from Utah's prehistoric peoples, and stories told by Utah's native people of today.

Enjoy breath-taking views of the Salt Lake Valley from our observatory deck and experience natural history as only Utah can reveal it.

Visit our website to see the current special exhibition. We typically have two special exhibits each year.
