Forget everything you thought you knew about winter sports because the Winter Roundup is unleashing urban skijoring – the wild child of ski racing and rodeo madness, right in the heart of our bustling city streets! Imagine a lineup of former Olympic Alpine Ski champions, like Picabo Street, tearing through the urban landscape, towed by racing horses – it's a spectacle that defies winter norms and leaves you breathless.
Beyond the Slopes: Bull Riding, DJs, and Dancing!
But Winter Roundup is not just about racing down the streets; it's a kaleidoscope of fun. The Village, at Abravanel Hall Plaza next to the Utah Museum of Contemporary Arts, is where the party goes wild. Hold on tight for heart-pounding mechanical bull riding that'll have you hooting and hollering like a true cowboy.
Cozy Up, Snap Pics, and Lean In to Winter Fun
As the party unfolds, cozy up by the fire pits scattered around, sip on hot cocoa, and let the warmth of the flames ignite your adventurous spirit. And here's the cherry on top – the chance to snap pics with Olympians! It's a moment to rub shoulders with the stars.
Picture DJs dropping beats, local cultural groups delivering mind-blowing performances, and line dance lessons turning the outdoor dance floor into a frenzy of moves. Where else can you blend the thrill of bull riding with the beats of a DJ in the middle of winter? But that's not all – The Village is also has food trucks dishing out delicious treats.
Next door, by the Salt Lake Visitors Center, is the Salt Chalet Village, where you can try out curling lanes for some legitimate Olympic fun, and check out winter sports art installations with great opportunities for unique selfies.
