There's nothing better than a warm drink after a day in the cold smoke. The Vault Bar, located within the Hotel Monaco's Bambara Restaurant, offers this toasty, cozy cider in both a kid-friendly and adult version.

The Vault’s bartender Andrew Aveyta designed his seasonal hot beverage, called Sugar & Spice, with both adults and children in mind. The Hotel Monaco is located across the street from the Capitol Theatre where Ballet West stages its annual production of The Nutcracker. After a day on the hill, you could catch the night performance of the classic holiday ballet (or Romeo & Juliet, or Beauty & the Beast) and swing into The Vault afterwards for a nightcap.

SUGAR & SPICE

2 cups cider

1 cup orange juice

1 cup cranberry juice

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 Tbsp. cinnamon

1 Tbsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. clove

1/2 tsp. ginger

2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Mix all above ingredients. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 minutes or longer to amplify the spice flavors. Optional: Add 1 oz. of brandy or bourbon.
