Salt Palace Convention Center Space

The Salt Palace Convention Center features 515,000 gross square feet of contiguous exhibit space divisible into nine halls and 160,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, including a 45,000 square foot pillar-less Grand Ballroom.  The meeting space may be divided into 67 variable meeting rooms.

Among the venues in our portfolio are landmark facilities such as McCormick Place & Soldier Field in Chicago, the Los Angeles Convention Center, Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans and the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Conference Centre in Shenzhen, China. ASM Global also offers food and beverage operations through its concessions and catering companies.


Space is contracted on a daily basis from 7:00AM to 11:59PM.

*One room set change to a sit-down, full meal function is provided at no charge.  All other room reset changes will incur an additional 50% of the published room rate.  Theater or classroom sets in exhibit halls are $.75 per chair.

Changes made to room sets under 30 days prior to move-in will be billed at an hourly rate.

Coat & Luggage Check

We offer coat & luggage check services for all events in need. Charged at an hourly rate per attendant, this service adds an additional layer of exceptional customer service to your event and attendee experience. Please contact your Event Manager directly or call 385-468-2229 for more information. 

Mobility Aid Rentals

For those who need additional assistance moving throughout our facility, we offer per day rate rentals of mobility scooters and wheelchairs. With the option for multi-day rentals, your attendees have the ability to ensure their mobility comfort for the entirety of their stay here in Salt Lake City. For ease of use, rentals can now be picked-up and dropped-off at our Guest Services office located on the lower mezzanine level outside of Hall A. Internet Services

Complimentary WiFi is available in all meeting rooms and lobby areas. Speed is set at 2 Mbps per device, perfect for light web browsing, checking email and social media. Access is available in one-hour increments. WiFi can also be purchased if a longer duration or a faster speed is required. Additional internet services can be found here

ENCORE, our preferred audiovisual provider, offers high quality, high value services to meet all of your audiovisual needs.  In addition, they are located on-site with 24-hour assistance, as needed. If you choose to use an outside audiovisual contractor, a daily patch fee will be applied.

Sustainability Partnerships

APEX-ASTM Level 1 logo

Events Industry Council Sustainable Event Standards (EIC SES) certification obtained concurrently by the Salt Palace (Gold), Visit Salt Lake (Silver), and Encore (Silver).


We provide one-stop shopping when it comes to sustainability. From the destination, CVB, facility, caterer and A/V provider, we will all work with you to minimize your event’s environmental impact. Our unique, collaborative approach to EIS SES certification for three separate entities in one building, is the first in the nation designed to help meeting planners select multiple providers that are deeply committed to sustainability.


Contract Requirements

  • Deposit – Required with returned, signed contract
  • Insurance – A Certificate of Insurance naming SMG and Salt Lake County as additional insureds is required 30 days prior to move-in
  • Balance Due – 30 days prior to move-in
  • Ancillary Charges – pre-arranged parking, rigging, staging, security and any other additional costs will be billed at Settlement after the close of your event
