SALT PALACE CONVENTION CENTER HONORED WITH 2026 KIRK ENGLEHARDT BUSINESS ETHICS AWARD
The Salt Palace Convention Center has been honored with the 2026 Kirk Englehardt Business Ethics Award from the Utah Valley University Center for the Study of Ethics.
This award reflects the dedication of our entire team, who consistently put ethics, sustainability, and community at the forefront of everything we do.
ABOUT THE AWARD
The annual Kirk Englehardt Business Ethics Award honors individuals who demonstrate a continual dedication to ethics through their business practices. Co-sponsored by the UVU Center for the Study of Ethics and the Woodbury School of Business, the award has long celebrated individuals who lead with integrity.
Being selected as an organization, the first in the award's history, affirms that ethics is not the work of one person here; it is the shared commitment of our entire team.
SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICS AT THE VENUES
Our Sustainable Events Coordinator, McKell Nelson, accepted the award on behalf of the team and delivered a speech that captured what this recognition means to us. Additionally, McKell had the opportunity to present to a UVU business ethics class, highlighting our Landfill Diversion Program, and sharing how sustainability and ethics are deeply intertwined in the work we do.
Our Landfill Diversion Program is designed to meaningfully reduce waste and demonstrates how large-scale venues can operate responsibly without sacrificing excellence. For us, operating ethically means making decisions that consider our community, our environment, and our partners.
You can learn more about our sustainability initiatives and landfill diversion on our Sustainability Page.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR US
Receiving this award reinforces that our approach, building trusted partnerships, operating with transparency, and committing to shared achievement, is not only the right way to do business, it is recognized as such. We are committed to raising the bar for ethical operations in the convention and events industry and will continue to lead with purpose and integrity.
