SALT LAKE CITY (August 2023) Celina Sinclair recently joined Visit Salt Lake (VSL) as Director of Strategic Alliances. In her new role, she oversees and executes strategy and implementation associated with the long-term stewardship of Visit Salt Lake’s strategic partners. Playing a leading role in managing the newly created Convention & Tourism Assessment Area (CTAA), Celina serves as the primary liaison with regional hotels and stakeholders. She’ll work to enhance collaboration to drive tourism growth and development with trusted initiatives and new, unique programming.
Celina brings more than a decade of strong tourism industry and destination marketing organization experience to VSL. She served as partner relations lead at the Utah Office of Tourism (UOT) where she demonstrated her industry relations, partnership collaborations, and resource development skills. Most notably, Celina managed UOT’s traditional cooperative marketing program, which received annual legislative appropriation.
Celina holds a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in tourism development and management from Arizona State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Utah, solidifying her understanding of public-sector management and administration.
“We are happy to welcome Celina! We are confident she’ll use her extensive skills and knowledge to create success with our CTAA initiatives,” said President & CEO Kaitlin Eskelson. “She will develop VSL’s connections and extend our ‘West of Conventional’ brand while driving the growth of our visitor economy.”
“I’m excited to work with our hotel partners on the newly formed Convention & Tourism Assessment Area with exceptional strategies to create pronounced increases in occupancy and room rates,” said Celina. “I look forward to building upon our existing alliances while bringing new partners into play as we work together to keep our tourism economy a vital part of Utah’s marketplace.”
