Promote kindness, justice, and equity in our places of work.

Internal Culture: 

Each year we ask our staff what they value most from an employer through an annual employee survey. This has shown us that they value working for a business that cares for the local community, celebrating team successes, and opportunities to socialize with their co-workers.

Equity is a huge consideration for ASM Global and our leadership. Fairness and balance in wages and job opportunities is considered everywhere possible, this includes examination of any gender pay gap challenges.

ASM Global’s requires staff to sign an acknowledgement and expectation of no sexual harassment in the workplace.

We work to create a safe space for staff to discuss any systemic bias that exists within our organization, community, and country as a whole. We encourage confronting harmful beliefs, stereotypes, and misinformed thinking to build a culture of respect and understanding.


External Partnerships: 

Salt Lake County has been an incredible owner and should be highlighted for their support in helping us build a balanced and well-cared for staff, we have pretty strong job satisfaction and we couldn’t achieve this without them.

Our community partners (nonprofits) teach us many things. We have had them share information and present at our end-of-year holiday luncheon on things such as earthquake safety, equality, and how to use kindness in the workplace.


New Targets: 

We continue to work on gender pay gaps through reporting, discussion, and proactive measures. While we are in a better place than some businesses, we want to continue to reduce the gap.

We have some encouraging examples to highlight racial equity and sexual harassment awareness in our employee handbook, but we would like to do more consistent training in these areas.
