Salt Lake City's Best Bakeries
You can find cakes, cookies, breads and doughnuts on every corner in Salt Lake City, but it takes a bit of looking to find baked goods that are truly outstanding. Here are a few of the Salt Lake area's best bakeries, serving decadent creations crafted with care.
Banbury Cross Donuts is Salt Lake City's favorite locally owned doughnut shop, and their doughnuts are everything a doughnut should be - crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and drenched in sweet glaze. They are also priced right at about $9 per dozen.

Carlucci's Bakery, next to Tony Caputo's Market and Deli, serves breakfast, coffee, soups and sandwiches as well as a huge variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other desserts. Try the cannolli - the best in SLC.

Eva's Bakery and Cafe, one of Salt Lake City's newest bakeries, is a French-style boulangerie that's like a little Paris in SLC. Their sourdough based breads are made with organic ingredients, and they have a variety of delectable sweets and pastries. Eva's Bakery also offers table service at breakfast and lunch, with a variety of soups, salads, croques, bakery style pizzas, coffee and drinks.

Gourmandise, The Bakery, has been serving French pastries, baked goods and cafe cuisine in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere for almost 20 years. The main attraction at Gourmandise is the stunning bakery case, but the restaurant also offers table service with casual favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Great Harvest Bread Co. mills their own whole grain wheat flour daily and bakes up a variety of classic American breads, cookies and other desserts. They also serve sandwiches for lunch. Try making French toast with the Cinnamon Burst bread - yum!
There are locations throughout Utah, including Draper, Holladay, Salt Lake City and Taylorsville.
Harmon's is a locally owned supermarket chain with a top quality bakery department. Their artisan breads are some of Salt Lake's best, and I recommend their pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and iced sugar cookies.
Locations throughout the Wasatch Front include Brickyard, City Creek, Draper, Emigration, Kearns, Midvale, South Jordan, Taylorsville and West Valley.
Kneaders Bakery & Cafe serves a variety of decadent desserts, pastries, cakes and cookies, plus sandwiches and salads for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their Chunky Cinnamon French Toast is to die for.
