Vivaldi by Candlelight Fundraising Gala

  • Presented By: Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy
  • at: First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City
  • 12 C Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103
At the turn of the 18th century, London was swept by a craze for anything Italian, especially music. Italian composers like Francesco Geminiani and Giovanni Bononcini were wildly successful in the UK for much of their careers. Some English composers like Charles Avison fawned over and imitated the style of Geminiani and other Italian idols. However, other composers like William Boyce sought to preserve a traditional "English" sound. So whether your tastes lean toward linguini con vongole or steak and kidney pie, the result is a fascinating and vibrant outpouring of virtuosity that is sure to please and delight at this year's Vivaldi by Candlelight gala.Vivaldi by Candlelight is a signature fundraising gala of the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy and directly supports our programs and mission. A portion of your ticket price is tax deductible. The minimum age is 10.
