As a woman, Louisa May Alcott was a pioneer on many fronts. In addition to being a successful novelist, her parents provided a stop on the Underground Railroad, she was a suffragist, a feminist, a Civil War nurse, and active in the temperance movement. Tonight we celebrate women in the arts by featuring songs by female composers and lyricists.
