In May 2015, Peter Wohlleben published his book “The Secret Life of Trees” and immediately stormed the bestseller lists. How does a book about trees manage to cast a spell over people? Perhaps because the forester from the village of Wershofen succeeds in writing vividly about the German forest like no other. In this way, he lets the readers participate in his finding that trees are able to communicate with one another. Furthermore, he gives forest tours and holds readings, so that he brings people closer to the extraordinary living beings and his readership continues to grow. He has turned his passion into a profession: starting as a civil servant in the Rhineland-Palatinate forest administration, he soon broke free from the chains of the administration, together with the municipality of Wershofen put an ancient beech forest under protection and founded a forest academy. Since then he has been traveling the world, visiting the oldest tree on the planet in Sweden and supporting the demonstrators in the Hambach Forest. He is seen by many as a role model, because Peter Wohlleben is aware of one thing: if the trees are doing well, the people will survive too.Tickets purchased through the Virtual Cinema series help generate revenue for Park City Film.
