David Gewanter's new book, Fort Necessity, shapes poems from testimony and documents by factory workers, convicts, plutocrats, and anarchists—it dramatizes industrial labor, violence, and the creative body from the Carnegie era to the Koch brothers. Gewanter is the author of three previous poetry books and he is co-editor of Robert Lowell: Collected Poems. He received the Zacharis First Book Award, Witter Bynner fellowship, a Whiting Award, and an Ambassador Book Award. He teaches at Georgetown University.Christian Felt (’12) holds a BA in English from Westminster College. His book, The Lightning Jar, won the John Simmons Short Fiction Award— judged by Rebecca Lee—in 2018. Felt lives in Salt Lake City and is studying math and computer science at the University of Utah.
