Murray Arts Board holds a Free Children Matinee Series throughout June - August a the Murray Park Pavilion #5. Held most Thursdays at 2:00 PM!Come watch The Puppet Players take to the stage with their life-sized puppet stars! The Utah Puppet Theater began in 1990 with the idea that puppet productions should be fun, grand, and accessible to Utah kids of all ages. The puppeteers tour their life-sized shows to schools from Ogden to Provo. The colorful puppet characters are manipulated bunraku-style, where the puppeteers dress in black and move their counterparts in full view of the audience. This allows more movement, more creativity, and tons more audience involvement. Sometimes a character will come off stage and dance around the watchers. Because children's imaginations are so lively, they "forget" to watch the puppeteer, and the character seems to move all by itself. Puppet magic! The UPT's principle puppeteers are Coralie and Ralph Leue, husband and wife team and puppet enthusiasts!
