If you’ve been tuned in to the SLC folk music scene even minimally during the last three or four decades—there’s a good chance you’ve heard a song or two by Doug Wintch.  His best known composition is “Salt Lake City” from his 1993 recording—Wooden Nickels. Two more albums followed—Checkin’ In (1996) and Singin’ on the Job 2010.Doug has always kept one foot in the solo acoustic/folk world; and one foot in various electric/Americana bands. As of this writing, it’s looking like he’ll be playing solo at the Jewish Community Center.Whatever the context—Doug’s songs will touch your heart and tickle your funny bone. He’s been called a Utah treasure…he’s definitely a Utah original.  Don’t miss it!This event is free and open to anyone. Bring a picnic, or purchase food from Silver Moon Taqueria food truck.
