Local Colors of Utah Art Gallery presents an extension to the exhibit Emotionscapes:  Large Paintings By Bill Reed” This show features the art of Bill Reed.   William B. Reed was born in Newport, Arkansas in 1952. His early years were spent in the swamps, forests, thickets, and deserts of Louisiana and Texas: where he was often free to roam unsupervised. After his family moved to Maryland, he spent his free time roaming the National Gallery of Art when not protesting the war.  Although it has become a cliché, Woodstock was a defining moment in his life.“Emotionscapes:  Large Paintings By Bill Reed” will continue through May 14th, with an closing reception on May 10th, from 6 - 9 PM. For more details visit Press Contact:801.362.2922 (business hours Tue-Sat, Noon-8pm) About Local Colors: Founded in 2002 by a handful of passionate Utah artists with the purpose of developing a cooperative space where artists can display their expressive and unique perspectives of fine art creation, Local Colors has become a favorite of discerning visitors and art-interested locals alike. At any given time, fine art works are represented in a variety of mediums including pottery, photography, jewelry, painting, sculpture, fibre, collage, mixed media, and glass. Local Colors has won awards for its eclectic style, friendly service, and diversity of art on display, and since moving to Sugar House in 2011 has become the center of the blossoming art community there.
