Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1
Fri, Jan 11
Seven was certainly Dvorák’s lucky number – as his Symphony No. 7 became his most popular. Inspired by his mentor, Johanne Brahms’ Third Symphony, Dvorák departed from his usually sunny, folk-themed melodies, and penned this tragic symphony, with the second movement being considered one of his finest works. Guest conductor, Peter Oundjian, straight from Toronto, will enliven the night with his probing and dynamic style. And don’t miss pianist, Jan Lisiecki, who at age 23 brings a vibrant youthful touch to every performance.
