    Celebrate “the elemental will” of Nielsen’s wartime tribute to the perseverance of all life.The season-long study in reverse of Beethoven’s piano concerti continues correctly with Argentine pianist Ingrid Fliter performing concerto No. 1, written after No. 2 but published later.Witness dueling timpani in the thrilling finale of Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 4, a feast for the eyes as well as the ears.Beethoven only composed one opera, but he wrote four overtures for it and this brilliant curtain-raiser for Fidelio eventually won the race.Experience a behind-the-scenes look at the process of bringing our concerts to the stage during our Finishing Touches rehearsals. Tickets include complimentary light refreshments in the lobby prior to the start of the rehearsal. This is a working rehearsal and selections from the weekend’s program will be made at the discretion of the conductor.
