Surprisingly Abundant Powder at Snowbird

A friend called after skiing at Snowbird today and I couldn't help but catch a sense of enthusiasm in his voice. He was going on and on about the surprisingly good powder and how abundant it was despite what has seemed to be a lack of snow.

Perspectives are always different when you're in the Salt Lake Valley where it may only snow an inch or less.

Case in point: This last storm came through but didn't produce any measurable snow in the valley.  However,  Snowbird received over 8", bringing the annual snowfall this season to over 6 feet!

This image from Snowbird sums up just how good it was yesterday and today.

There are 6 lifts and 75% of the mountain open.  Snowbird currently offers an early season lift ticket price of $62.  If you get up there this week, comment here and let us know how the experience was for you.
