Sunday Market: Power to the People
As I listened to live music from around the world, I picked up some veggies for the next few meals - a bag full of fresh basil, four potatoes, a bunch of tomatoes, a squash, and almost a pound of green beens: in all, enough for a few meals, all for less than $7.00.
Talking with one of the market's organizers, I learned that both commercial farmers and local gardeners are able to set up booths for very reasonable prices ($15, or $5 for a table share). In addition, there are artisans and even youth entrepreneurs. The market seemed incredibly friendly and community-minded.
