Spring in SLC: Festival Season
One reason I'm happy to be in SLC: in the space of two weekends and as many city blocks, I was able to a) catch a hip hop band out of Portland, b) view a Sundance film, c) watch dance performances from various countries in Latin America and Central Africa, and d) talk with heirloom tomato and recycled glass jewelry experts. Oh, and all of this was free.
Once it starts to warm up, the festival/fair/outdoor concert season gets going here in Utah. Last weekend, it was the Live Green Eco-Festival at Library Square, presented by the Downtown Alliance and Ebay. This weekend was the 24th Annual Living Traditions Festival, on the grounds of the City and County Building, right next door to the library.
Both are annual events not to be missed: check out their websites to find dates for next year. In the meantime, the Utah Arts Festival is coming up June 25-28, and the Gallivan Center Twilight Concert Series starts in July.
