Salt Lake Convention Center Renamed

A couple weeks ago Salt Lake held a ceremony to officially rename its convention center the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center, in honor of Utah's only three-term Governor (1965-1977) who, with his contemporaries, had the vision and foresight to plan for and build the Salt Palace Convention Center.
The ceremony featured the unveiling of new signage at the convention center and speeches from civic and political leaders who helped shape Utah's past and present, and now guide its future, as well as Rampton's family.

The Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center is owned by Salt Lake County and operated by SMG Corporation, under contract with Salt Lake County. Having completed a $58 million expansion in 2006, the Salt Palace Convention Center now boasts 675,000 square feet of exhibit and meeting space.
