The Salt Lake Scene

Salt Lake 200

Part V of an ongoing series...

Last week, I received an email from the Salt Lake Film Center telling me about the free screening of Green River: Divided Waters, that they were co-sponsoring at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. I went and watched the film (which was really interesting), and on the way out, noticed the museum advertising an exhibit on African art.

When I asked for more information, I *also* learned that the first Wednesday of every month, admission to the museum is FREE - perfect, because the first Wednesday was the very next day!

The next morning, I got to check out the African art exhibit (with pieces from all over the continent, including an Egyptian sarcophagus), and a desert photography show. Sadly, I didn't have enough time to enjoy the other cool exhibits currently up, (including Splendid Heritage: Perspectives on Native American Art), but I'll be back. Before heading to work, I did grab a quick bagel and chai at the Museum's cafe.
