Real Salt Lake: No Place Like Home
About 12,000 rain-soaked fans welcomed Real Salt Lake back to Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday, May 1 as RSL dominated Toronto FC in a 2-1 win that was RSL's second of the season. RSL now has a record of 2-3-2, with all their losses coming on the road.
April was a tough month for RSL, with the team playing five road matches in four weeks. In May, RSL has five scheduled matches at home, where they lost only one match in 2008 and one in 2009 on their way to the MLS Cup Championship. On June 9, RSL will host the L.A. Galaxy in a rematch of last year's championship game featuring a special post-game concert by American Idol winner David Cook. Fans who want to see L.A Galaxy and David Cook can purchase the David Cook 3-Pack including the May 8, May 13 and June 9 games.

Rio Tinto Stadium is a beautiful 25,000-seat sports and entertainment facility in the Salt Lake suburb of Sandy, Utah. With a relatively small stadium, every seat offers a great view of the field. Rio Tinto offers VIP club and suite seating as well as a variety of dining options. Fans even have the option of ordering food from their cell phones and having it delivered to their seats.
Rio Tinto Stadium is within easy walking distance of three TRAX stations: the Historic Sandy Station (at 9000 South and 200 East), the Sandy Expo Station (at 9400 South, behind Jordan Commons) and the Sandy Civic Center Station (at 10000 South, behind Jordan High School). Parking at the stadium is limited and reserved for VIPs, so most fans who drive will want to park in one of the inexpensive pay lots in the neighborhood. The largest of these is at the South Towne Expo Center. There's also free public parking at nearby Jordan School District buildings, UTA park-and-ride lots and the Sandy Civic Center. Rio Tinto patrons may not park at Jordan Commons.
