Salt Lake City is never one to rest on its laurels when it comes to food and drink, and the last three months have been no exception. If it’s been a while since you’ve checked out the latest and greatest changes to our foodie scene, we’ve got just what you need—a recap of some of the very best new openings in town.

Manoli's

Manoli's

I’m starting this month’s roundup with not a new restaurant per se, but a welcome back to one of the most loved names on the Salt Lake City dining scene. After a five-month enforced hiatus, the fine dining Greek cuisine of Manoli’s is now open for business once more.

The story behind the reboot started in late 2022, the owners receiving terrible news the night before a fully booked New Year’s Eve service. A freak water line break had flooded the restaurant, rendering it unusable. Months of restorative work unfurled.

The restaurant is now back in business with eager locals filling up the reservation book in support. Of course, it’s more than goodwill that drives the staunchly loyal following. The relaunched menu remains true to what followed before—a core of Greek meze—small shareable dishes, presented in an elegant and modern space. The restaurant now sports a deep inventory of Greek wine, that’s completely unique in the state.

Las Botellas

Riverton is the home for this stunning restaurant creation, equal parts Mexican-inspired steakhouse, and vibey experiential venue. The atmosphere is more Vegas than Vernal, with guests entertained by a variety of performers, fire dancers included. Reservations are a must for this multi-million-dollar showstopper, whose menu takes an upscale approach to familiar Mexican dishes. The steakhouse section of the menu will no doubt attract many a prime cut lover, even offering grand options like certified A5 Kobe and a whopping 40 ounce tomahawk. That’s enough to feed four by the way.

Burgertory

For a frightfully good time, and more than a few puns along the way, check out this new West Valley City burger stop. The space is a haven for those who wish they could enjoy Halloween every day of the year—with the main room littered with on-brand movie artwork. The menu goes all in on the fun too; with dishes such as the exorswiss and mushrooms, poultrygeist and translyvegan. Salads, sandwiches, and several sides round things out.

Chappell Brewing

After a final hour change of name, Apex Brewing has now launched as Chappell Brewing. The brewer is just the latest in Utah’s ever increasing craft brew scene. Head brewer and owner Tim Chappell brews up a bevy of “unapologetic ales,” American-style ales concoctions that aim to push “the boundaries of current style guidelines.” The bar is also handily located in South Salt Lake’s Creative Industries Zone—one littered with many other fabulous brewers, distillers, and art projects.

Marmalade Brunch House

Named eponymously for their neighborhood location, the central enticing premise here is simple and effective: brunch every day. Open early seven days a week, the menu features the familiar gamut of brunch staples: traditional breakfast plates through beignets, benedicts, and burgers.

Stack 571 Burger & Whiskey Bar

Another addition for Riverton at the burgeoning Mountain View Village development. Open seven days a week, for both lunch and dinner, as you might have guessed—hefty burger builds are the core of 571's menu. The lineup is an internationally inspired one—the banh mi burger topped with all the signature items you know and love from the similarly named Vietnamese sandwich; a poutine burger taps Canadian flavor, while the caprese looks to Italy's fresh flavors.

Pizza Nono

After winning praise aplenty for their inaugural location in the trendy 9th and 9th district, this modern pizza shop recently debuted their second outpost. Found in the Millcreek Commons development, the concise menu bears all the hallmarks of the original blueprint: thin crust, Neapolitan-style pies made with TLC. Be sure to check their social media profiles for keen deals too. Nono recently sported a $10 margherita pizza special on certain weekdays.

Baby’s Bagels

Who has the best bagel in Utah? I’m not willing to settle that argument outright, but I will say that Baby’s are undeniably up there in the running. Formerly operating ad hoc popups, the business recently moved digs with the aim of expanding their hours. The bagels are the boiled real deal, available in a variety of finishes (and the schmear is unmissable). The company are still working to increase their hours and availability, but the new spot in the former downtown Cannella’s restaurant space has already seen the company expand to both Friday and Saturday bagel boils. Expect the business to go from strength to strength.

Bobby D’s Da Beef 'N Hot Dog Joynt

Those finding themselves craving a taste of the Windy City will want to scour the schedules for this brand-new food truck. Rolling around the valley, Bobby D’s focuses on two of Chicago’s iconic dishes: Chicago dogs and Italian beef sandwiches.

The dogs tick all the right boxes including legit Vienna beef sausages through the classic poppy seed bun. Meanwhile those loaded beef sandwiches come with the option of being dipped or wet. If you know, you know. Just remember ketchup is strictly off limits.

Lemon Shark Poke

CThose downtown SLC streets are going to be increasingly sweltering over the months ahead. With that in mind, consider cooling off at this new poke bowl spot on Broadway. Signature bowls are loaded with fresh mango and ahi tuna—perfect summertime fare. For something more substantial, Lemon Shark also offer a number of Japanese-style bento boxes featuring options such as chili salmon, kalua pork, and coconut shrimp.

Raising Cane’s

I don’t ordinarily cover fast food eateries, but in this particular case I think it’s the worthy exception to the rule. After a top-secret overhaul, the Midvale location of Raising Cane’s was given a one-of-a-kind interior revamp, courtesy of none other than Post Malone. The chart topper is notable for both residing in Utah, as well as being a fan of the Louisiana-based chicken chain.

Malone was tapped by the organization to develop an eye-catching update for the space, and what an update it is. The result is an unmissable bold splash of bubblegum pink, both inside and out. On the interior, Malone’s memorabilia can be seen alongside tattoo art splashed across the walls. The superstar’s influence reaches from parking lot to restrooms, and makes the location a unique experience amongst the fast-food brand's portfolio of U.S. locations.

As a final bonus for fans making the pilgrimage, the restaurant also offers a unique combo menu item—the “Posty Way;" the special menu item comprises Malone’s personal order of four chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, two cane’s sauce, two Texas toasts, and a half unsweet tea/half lemonade drink.
