Join the SLC Summer Crew!
Monday May 9, 2011

Understandably so, the state is known for its winter sports. Between the timeless stamp left by the 2002 Winter Olympics, the record-breaking snowfall and even a state license plate that says “The Greatest Snow on Earth,” it’s no wonder the winter lures people here. But it’s the summer that entices them enough to move here.
Don’t get me wrong, I love skiing. But summer really is the best time to be in Salt Lake. Aside from the obvious weather perks – blue skies, warm days, cool nights – the lack of rain allows nearly every activity imaginable to take place outside. Outdoor concerts, festivals, movie nights, farmers markets, art festivals, etc. And on top of that it’s only a short drive to some of the best mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and camping in the world.

The “SLC Summer Crew” is recruiting locals who love all that Salt Lake has to offer. Locals who love going to the Twilight Concert Series, hiking around in Big Cottonwood Canyon or grabbing a bite to eat on the patio at Squatters. These locals need to have a smart phone, a solid knowledge of social media and a steady base of followers on Twitter and Facebook. Crew Members will be announced by May 31, and the contest will begin June 1.
Once chosen, Crew Members will receive two 365-Day Visit Salt Lake Connect Passes and will compete for prizes in weekly social media challenges throughout the summer -- with a Grand Prize for the overall winner. At least eight of the 12 challenges must be completed to stay part of the Crew and be eligible for the Grand Prize.
Sooo… do you have what it takes to be a part of the SLC Summer Crew? Apply today on Visit Salt Lake's Facebook page!
