With the dream of free candy haunting their dreams, hopes of haunted houses in mind, and plenty of spooky good times to look forward to, Halloween is big time for kids. Check out our list of family- and kid-friendly Halloween fun, and be sure to get a taste of the best Salt Lake has to offer in the haunting season.

Cornbelly’s at Thanksgiving Point

One of Utah’s most popular Halloween destinations, Cornbelly’s has something for everyone, from thrill-seeking grown-ups to the littlest boos and ghouls. Watch halloween fireworks, walk through “The Belly of the Beast,” and run through the 12-acre corn maze. Or try to keep your composure in the Big Top Terror haunted circus, the Hayloft Horror haunted barn, or Insanity Point. Scare ratings are mild during the daytime, but they climb at night. In addition to spooky fun, there are countless other fall attractions, including zip lines, apple blasters, face painting, pumpkin bowling, interactive games, hayrides, and lots of food and treats.

Wheeler Farm Pumpkin Days

This not-so-scary daytime Halloween adventure includes entrance into the Hay Maze, one wagon or Cow Train ride, and a pumpkin.

Pumpkin Nights

If glowing jack o’ lanterns at night are more up your alley, then plan a visit to the Utah State Fair Park’s Pumpkin Nights, where there will be over 3,000 hand-carved pumpkins all aglow, in eight distinct pumpkin lands. There will also be live giant-pumpkin carving, fire-dancing performances, a screening of Pixar’s Coco, and tasty treats and autumn beverages.

Little Haunts

Avoid the dark at This Is the Place Heritage Park, where kids can show off their costumes, go trick or treating, visit the story-telling witch, or go for a train or pony ride.

Monster Block Party

Trick or treating, a costume contest, arts and crafts, live entertainment, and a pumpkin drop. Oh, and it’s FREE.

Boo at the Zoo

Kids 12 and under can come in costume to trick or treat at various booths set up around the zoo grounds. It’s all the fun of visiting the zoo and meeting the animals—plus candy!

Utah Symphony Presents Ghostbusters

When one considers the ghost-comedy genre, it’s tough to debate the cinematic merit of Ghostbusters. Watch this classic movie on a big screen in the beautiful Abravanel Hall, as the Utah Symphony performs the iconic score live.
