Experience Salt Lake at the Downtown Farmer's Market
Besides a powder day, there isn’t a lot that wills me out of bed early on Saturdays, of course unless it ‘s farmer's market season. There’s something about taking in the early morning bustle of local shoppers, mired of friendly canines and delicious samples to taste that exudes summer for me.
The Downtown Farmer’s Market isn’t just a great place for locals to pick up fresh weekly groceries. It’s a great way to experience all Salt Lake has to offer while enjoying my favorite pastimes: eating and shopping!
With summer in Salt Lake warming up I’ve made an effort to get to the market bright and early on Saturdays. My first necessary stop is always an iced coffee and lately a pastry from one of the local bakeries like Vosen’s Bread Paradise or Tulie Bakery.
Bonus, if you are only visiting for a short time, the Farmer's Market can be a great way for you to try many of Salt Lake’s best eats in one place.
Frida Bistro, one of Salt Lake's restaurants, offers tasty menu items at the market for breakfast and lunch, no need to make reservations!
The farmer's market has just as many non-food items for your perusing pleasure. It’s the perfect place to pick up a local souvenir for friends back home.
Now, I’m partial to things that make my day easier that’s why I love this option. Open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. the market offers a unique complimentary “Veggie Valet” service to store your purchases while you continue to shop. I find this service particularly handy when I chose to stay for the live music that starts at 11 a.m.
Stop by the Downtown Farmer’s Market at Historic Pioneer Park through October 27.
