Downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market
Over the years that market has grown quite a bit and in the recent years the desire for locally grown produce, baked products and crafts has seen a surge in both demand and interest.
Salt Lake is no different when it comes to demand and interest.
Utah and in particular the greater Salt Lake area has a wide variety of fruits and vegetable growers. From corn to watermelon to apples and succulent raspberries the options are plentiful. But going into your local grocery store didn't mean you'd get locally grown produce. To that end the Downtown Salt Lake Farmers Market which takes place each Saturday in the Pioneer Park is a gem of an opportunity to meet the growers and buy local. On top of that, the quality is top notch and the atmosphere is enjoyable.
Aside from over 80 local produce growers you'll see a number of bakers, food providers, crafts of all kinds and more.
One note by way of reminder - The Sustainability Salon presents: B.Y.O.Bag: In an effort to decrease the amount of plastic use at the Downtown Farmers Market, they have been asking customers to bring their own bags to carry purchases home in.
When: Saturdays - June 14 thru Oct 18
Time: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
Where: Historic Pioneer Park (300 South 300 West)
Last time I checked parking was still free surrounding the park and the meters are free on Saturdays. See you this next Saturday!
