Canaday Joins Salt Lake CVB's D.C. Sales Team

eddie-canadayA couple weeks ago as I was walking around the office here the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau (SLCVB), I bumped into an enthusiastic guy who happily greeted me, dressed in a full suit.

Not that we are casual Monday through Friday around these parts, but full suits are a somewhat rare sighting so I figured he must have been here for a job interview.

Actually the interview was complete and had been a success for all involved.

Lowell "Eddie" Canaday was on board, being appointed as the SLCVB Director of Convention Sales, Washington, D.C. Satellite Office. Based in the nation's capital, Canaday joins Carey Fenn-Moses in representing the SLCVB and promoting Salt Lake as a convention and meeting destination to corporate and association planners.

Canaday brings both sales and CVB experience to his new position, offering a unique perspective to Salt Lake's clients and potential clients. Prior to managing destination and events sales for Washington D.C.'s NAVTEQ, Canaday spent 11 years with the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau in different capacities, from Convention Sales Manager to President of the organization. Canaday also spent seven years as Director of Sales for a Charleston, WV, hotel.

Canaday received his bachelor's degree in Travel Industry Management with a concentration in Tourism Planning and Promotion from Concord College in Athens, WV, and holds CHSP (Certified Hospitality Sales Professional) and CHME (Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive) designations.

We welcome Eddie on board and look forward to continued success with him as part of the SLCVB team.
