Bike Film Coming to Brewvies
Biking season is here and has been for a while. But if you need extra motivation to get in the saddle you might want to swing by Brewviews next Thursday night May 28 and catch Freedom Riders, a new mountain bike film and documentary.
Freedom Riders is about a core group of riders who evolved to creating a precedent setting relationship with the Forest Service and in doing so created the first freeride mountain bike specific trails on public lands in the lower 48.
Freedom Riders goes further to take a look at the evolution of the sport, the progression of trail users, and an inside story of a group of riders that would never see their passion die.
What's interesting about the film is that it's being presented locally by Salt Lake based WAFTA (Wasatch Area Freeride Trails Association) who has been working with the city of Draper lately to build a series of what have become highly popular trails for downhill mountain biking. Proceeds from the evening will continue to benefit WAFTA and more trails in the Salt Lake area.
There are two showings on the 28th with the first one kicking off at 7pm. Get there early and take in dinner, some beverages and perhaps you'll win some swag in the drawings.

Brewvies is a cinema pub located at 677 South 200 West in Salt Lake City. What that means is you can head in, grab some good grub (the spicy chicken sandwich is my favorite and their fries are a must), get your favorite locally brewed beverage and catch a movie all in one. It's quite brilliant really and an easy stroll from downtown.
