nasp_logoI'm not sure how far you typically catch yourself thinking into the future - 1 week, 2 months, Christmas...this year? How about the year 2016? If you're anything like me, you've not even had that number cross the mind. In fact, when I first heard this week that the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau will be hosting the National Association of School Psychologists for their 2016 annual convention I was a little surprised. Surprised not that they chose Salt Lake since with it's close perimeter convention district, great selection of eats and hotels nearby that make it a sure thing for conventions, but surprised that we're booking events that far out. Slated for February 16-20, this citywide convention is expected to draw 4,500 attendees, generate 1,855 room nights on peak for a total of 7,500 room nights, and produce a projected delegate spending of $4 million in 2016. The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is the premier source of knowledge, professional development and resources, empowering school psychologists to ensure that all children and youth attain optimal learning and mental health. NASP represents school psychology and supports school psychologists to enhance the learning and mental health of all children and youth school psychologists to ensure that all children attain optimal learning and mental health.
