Badell to Fill Salt Lake CVB/Utah Sports Commission Athletic Market Sales Position

The Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau and Utah Sports Commission jointly announced the appointment of Jason Badell to the Director of Athletic Market Sales, a unique partnership between to the two marketing organizations to fulfill the like-minded objectives of each: to secure additional athletic-oriented meetings, convention and events to the Salt Lake area.

Badell brings a great deal of sales and operational experience in the sports industry market, most recently having worked with the Triple A Salt Lake Bees Baseball Team.  Prior to that, Badell worked with BYU's athletic department, the WNBA Utah Starzz and Del Sol apparel in Orange County, California.

“This joint Athletic Market Sales position represents the long-time cooperative relationship the CVB has had with the Utah Sports Commission, and is sure to further showcase the incredible venues Salt Lake and the state offers any and all athletic events, regardless of the season,” commented Scott Beck, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau. “From world-class ski and snowboard resorts to any number of warm-weather locations, urban and remote, Utah offers endless and unparalleled sporting venues.”

Jeff Robbins, president & CEO of the Utah Sports Commission, added, “From the 2002 Olympic Winter Games to this past summer’s PrimalQuest Adventure Race and Tour of Utah Cycling Race showed, Utah offers the infrastructure, accessibility and talent necessary to produce large-scale athletic events; the state’s unique venues and breathtaking scenery simply add a component to an event unequaled by anywhere else in the nation.”
