Salt Lake City (October 6, 2021)— Visit Salt Lake (VSL) designed a unique collaboration with Salt and Honey Makers Market to build a truly distinctive Visitors Center filled with innovative Utah arts experiences for locals, visitors and convention attendees. Featuring a thoughtfully curated collection of made-in-Utah finds from more than 50 small shops, artisans, designers and makers, the center greatly enhances the visitor experience by highlighting our diverse artistic community.

The public is invited to the Grand Opening on Thursday, October 14 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and attendees will receive a 10 percent discount for one-of-a-kind treasures. The VSL Visitor Center is located in the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center at 90 South West Temple. The Information Center will continue to have visitor information specialists and volunteers on hand to help with maps, information, and insider tips on our modern, vibrant destination.

“This is a really unique partnership that will greatly enhance the visitor experience and local shopping options while sustaining our diverse, salt-of-the-earth network of innovators and creators,” said Kaitlin Eskelson, President & CEO of Visit Salt Lake. “We are so excited to offer distinctive products only available in Utah to support our vibrant community of local artists and artisans.”

"We are thrilled to curate and revitalize our visitor center gift shop and give travelers a chance to see the incredible talent we have here in Salt Lake. Each artisan tells a story about our city through their handcrafted products,” said Ashley Collett, a partner in Salt and Honey. “Our partnership with Visit Salt Lake allows visitors to take the heart and soul of Salt Lake home with them."

The new ‘West of Conventional’ brand recognizes that Salt Lake is the intersection of many facets, where unconventional ideas make for a better world. This strong, sustainable, and unified brand champions the rich cultural offerings of Salt Lake and shines a spotlight on the local community – those people that live and breathe the brand every day – who live and work here and make it a better place.
