- A Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass Attraction -

Salt Lake City (May 2009)-The Utah Olympic Park, located just 30 minutes from downtown Salt Lake in Park City, was a 2002 Olympic Winter Games' venue and continues to present world-class events and competitions, not to mention thrill-of-a-lifetime activities and jaw-dropping exhibitions for visitors throughout the year. Admission to the Park is also one of more than a dozen attractions offered on the Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass.

Having hosted 14 medal events and 300,000 spectators during the Olympics, the Utah Olympic Park continues to host many World Cup bobsled, luge, skeleton and Nordic events, as well as training camps both winter and summer. Open year-round, the Park includes a bobsled track, Nordic jumps and a freestyle aerial slash pool, where athletes soar as high as 70 feet, many of which are available to the general public in the Park's "Learn To" programs. The Park also offers tours, public bobsled rides year-round, and freestyle aerial shows and a ZipRider during the summer months. History buffs will marvel while visiting the Joe Quinney Sport Center and the Alf Engen Ski Museum, also open throughout the year.

Originally opened in 1991 as The Utah Winter Sports Park, the Park was a critical element to the successful bid for the 2002 Olympics. The Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee purchased the Park in 1999, renamed it The Utah Olympic Park and invested in a number of additions and improvements prior to the 2002 Winter Games, making it one of the most complete and unique winter training locations in the world.
