Salt Lake City (May 2009)-Located in south Salt Lake, The Living Planet Aquarium is rich with marine life, ranging from sharks to coral reefs. Totaling 43,000 square feet, this Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass attraction is ideal for all ages, particularly children who love hands-on activities.  It also happens to be an included attraction on the Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass.

Featured exhibits include Coral Reefs, Utah wetlands, shark tanks, Bio-Facts, theatres and much more. Currently, exhibits feature sharks, rays, seahorses, jellyfish as well as octopus, eels, starfish, amphibians, trout and other freshwater species, providing a unique opportunity for the many landlocked Utahns to learn more about that which encompasses 70 percent of the earth's surface.     

The most recent addition to The Living Planet Aquarium is a 1,000 gallon tank that is surrounded by four jewel tanks, allowing visitors a close look at the beauty and structure of coral communities and the animals that feed, rest, hide and make a home in this habitat.

The Living Planet Aquarium is open throughout the year. Summer hours start Thursday, May 1 and run through September 31. Open Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Winter Hours start on Oct. 1 - April 30, and are open Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.  For more information on all that the aquarium has to offer and its exhibits, visit http://www.thelivingplanet.com/.
