Snowbird Hosts Free Mountain Music Festival, July 9-11

Snowbird, Utah - The Snowbird Renaissance Center (SRC), in association with the Intermountain Acoustic Music Association (IAMA), is proud to present the Mountain Music Festival, July 9-11. The three-day event at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort will feature free headlining concerts as well as musical events for the entire family (fee required).

"We're proud to offer exceptional free music in a festival atmosphere unlike any other in Utah," said Snowbird President Bob Bonar. "The Mountain Music Festival is a unique event that is sure to please music lovers of all ages in the beautiful backdrop of Little Cottonwood Canyon."

Traditional Colorado bluegrass act The Badly Bent will headline on July 10 and 11, showcasing their three-part harmonies and vast song catalogue. Veteran singer-songwriters Catie Curtis, Steve Seskin and Jaime Michaels round out the Saturday, folk-centered lineup, while Sunday celebrates bluegrass with the jam-fusion sounds of PurdyMouth WestVirginia.  A full lineup and links to artist biographies can be found at

The SRC and IAMA will be presenting a number of events throughout the weekend, beginning with the fan favorite Band Scramble on Friday. Guests can participate in the Snowbird Song School with facilitator Steve Seskin running throughout the weekend, as well as the Susanne Millsaps Performing Songwriter Showcase. This year's Mountain Music Festival also features the 11th Utah State Instrument Contest, presenting the most talented local instrumentalists on Saturday and Sunday.
