Skiing will continue another weekend at Utah's Snowbird
A week after saying this coming weekend looked doubtful because of a rapid upper-elevation snowmelt, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort officials said Wednesday that "limited, expert skiing from Hidden Peak" will be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Lift tickets will cost $49.
"We've extended the season as a thank you to our diehard skiers and all the fathers who want to get in a few last turns," said resort President Bob Bonar. "The weather looks fantastic for what should be a very special holiday weekend."
The skiing extension enables Snowbird's winter and summer seasons to overlap. The winter season will end with 189 days. Summer will kick off with a Brewfest on Saturday featuring products from 12 Utah breweries.
