Riding the overwhelming success of countless published gallery images and magazine covers, the Ski Salt Lake Shootout is back for its fourth consecutive year. Eight professional ski photographers and local professional athletes will battle it out for cash prizes and bragging rights as they attempt to capture the magic of the Cottonwood Canyon resorts and Ski Salt Lake through stunning imagery February 7-12, 2011.

New to the competition this year is the addition of local professional photographers and snowboarders.

"We have so many talented local photographers and such a huge snowboard presence in the Cottonwood Canyons that we couldn't resist any longer," said Laura Barnes, Tourism Communications Manager for Visit Salt Lake. "Obviously the snowboarders will only participate at Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude, but Alta couldn't be more supportive of the decision to bring them into the mix to help showcase all that Ski Salt Lake represents."

As an added bonus for shooting last year's Best of Show image, photographer Kevin Winzeler is invited back to defend his title. Ski Salt Lake promotes Salt Lake and the Cottonwood Canyon resorts of Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude as the ideal winter vacation destination unmatched in accessibility, variety and snow quality. Located just 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport, Salt Lake's resorts average 500+ inches of snow each year and collectively offer more than 7,500 skiable acres.
