Utah Business -- Beginning April 23, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants nationwide began stocking custom-designed Gaiam yoga mats in every guest-room closet and available for use at no charge whenever the itch for a stretch, pose or plank may strike.
Kimpton's Hotel Monaco in Salt Lake City also is helping guests get a little healthy activity while on the road, with a new complimentary “roll-out service.” Upon request, the hotel will come to the guest’s room, roll out the mat and furnish extra towels, flavored water, an assortment of fresh fruit or an energizing mix of dried fruit and nuts, and set the TV to Kimpton’s complimentary on-demand yoga or pilates channel.
“We know that business travel can be exhausting with long hours and sometimes it's hard to recharge your batteries,” said MaryLynn Beck, general manager of Hotel Monaco. “We’re making it easy for our guests to work in some energizing wellness activity Salt Lake City. We are not yoga experts, but we're experts on caring for our guests, and this is one way we can support them and let them know we care."
To introduce guests to the new in-room yoga mat offering, Kimpton hotels across the country will invite guests to participate in yoga-centric activities – from pose challenges to trivia triumphs – during its popular hosted evening wine hour, April 23 to May 3.
The in-room mat adds to a line-up of amenities Kimpton offers to help guests feel their best away from home, including complimentary bikes, weighted work-out hula hoops and jump ropes in Kimpton fitness centers, employee-led runs through town, group exercise classes and more.
