For families seeking city-style fun, the new Natural History Museum of Utah is one of the best educational venues around. The Clark Planetarium is an excellent place for kids to explore science and space, and it doesn’t cost a cent. Many families use Salt Lake City as a base camp for skiing Utah’s famous powder. It’s no wonder, as eleven ski areas are within an hour of the city limits. The abundant snowpack keeps trails open until late spring.
