NORWALK, Conn. and SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Event Marketer magazine and Visit Salt Lake today unveiled details of a new partnership surrounding the upcoming Event Marketing Summit-the world's largest executive conference on experiential marketing, taking place May 7-9 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake.

Salt Lake is the inaugural "Official Host City" of the 12th annual Event Marketing Summit, attended by 1,000 senior-level event marketing executives from Fortune 1000 companies and top agencies.

"We've been watching the rapid growth of the Event Marketing Summit for more than a decade," said Scott Beck, Visit Salt Lake's President, and CEO. "We're thrilled our wonderful city was selected to host this year's EMS and are excited to show the world's most elite event marketers all that Salt Lake has to offer."

The Event Marketer and Visit Salt Lake teams will work together to "roll out the red carpet" for EMS attendees. Visit Salt Lake will provide attendees with logistics support, exclusive access to some of the area's best daytime and nighttime hotspots, plus on-site concierges and information ambassadors during the conference. But the partnership truly comes to life via activities that will enhance the EMS experience and give event marketers a taste of the "magic of Salt Lake." These activities include:

-SALT LAKE DESTINATION DAY, MAY 6. The day before the conference officially kicks off, attendees will be able to explore the Salt Lake area via field trips to local shopping areas and museums, tours of the city's event and meetings facilities-and the first-ever EMS Ski Trip. All attendees are encouraged to come into Salt Lake early to participate.

-EVENT MARKETING SUMMIT MIXOLOGIST SHOOT-OUT, MAY 7. The annual EMS evening networking reception will get upgraded with the help of six Salt Lake mixologists, who will be mixing up craft drinks for attendees and competing to win the first EMS "best cocktail" award.

-EVENT MARKETING DOWNTOWN 'DINE AROUND', MAY 8. Visit Salt Lake and Event Marketer will ensure attendees enjoy the delicious cuisine and vibrant nightlife of Salt Lake on the Summit's final evening. A collection of eight restaurants will reserve tables for Summit attendees, and a group of lounges and nightclubs will open their doors (and their arms) to EMS guests after dinner. Visit Salt Lake concierges will assist with reservations and provide looping shuttles for Summit attendees.

More details on the partnership will be released later this winter. "Salt Lake is a fantastic city for events and meetings - and it is the perfect place to hold the first Event Marketing Summit in a new city in more than a decade," said Event Marketer Editor & Publisher Dan Hanover. "I'm very happy about this partnership and the elements that will elevate the experience for all of our attendees."

The 12th annual Event Marketing Summit takes place May 7-9 at the five-diamond Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. More than 50 sessions will immerse attendees into the latest trends and the newest best practices. A speaking faculty representing the biggest users of event marketing in the world will present case studies and speak to the future of experiential marketing. New curriculum on measurement and logistics will round out the content. A five-pack of bestselling authors will present in Master Classes on emerging business and marketing topics. And the entire conference will be keynoted by some of the most innovative experiential marketers: Julia Mize, VP-Experiential Marketing at Anheuser-Busch; Rob Pace, Senior VP-Events at HP; Stephanie Zimmer, Head of Brand Experience Marketing at Mercedes; and Luke Zaientz, VP-Event Marketing at Match.com. The full agenda will be released on January 31. For more information and to register, visit www.eventmarketer.com/summit.
