- A Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass Attraction -
Salt Lake City (May 2009)-Discovery Gateway, in the heart of downtown Salt Lake, is Utah's premier children's museum providing engaging interactive activities that inspire learning and generate fun for the whole family. It also happens to be an included attraction on the Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass.
Discovery Gateway was founded by a group of dedicated parents, educators and community leaders who all believed that children learn best by doing. This interactive museum provides hands-on creative activities that are both educational and entertaining for the whole family. Discovery Gateway literally opens a world of possibilities to kids and the adults alike through a world of fun and adventure with hundreds of permanent exhibits, rotating feature exhibits, daily workshops and special performances.
Discovery Gateway is easily accessible to the public, located adjacent to a TRAX light rail stop, and ample parking is available in the Gateway Mall. The hands-on museum also welcomes field trips that allow children to navigate the museum with the help of Discovery Hosts, allowing children the opportunity to learn more about the world around them.
Open seven days a week, Discovery Gateway's hours vary: Monday through Thursday 10 a.m.-6p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-8p.m., and Sunday noon-6 p.m. For more information on all that Discovery Gateway has to offer children of all ages, visit http://www.discoverygateway.org/.
