  • Ten airlines and their affiliates serve Salt Lake City International Airport: AeroMexico, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Northwest, Southwest, United and US Airways. Visit slcairport.com for a flight guide.
  • Consistently, SLC is Delta Air Lines' second largest hub. Along with commuter partners, they operate around 554 scheduled daily domestic flights.
  • The airport is situated within a two and a half-hour flight from half of the United State's population.
  • The airport served 22 million passengers in 2007. It is the 17th largest connecting hub airport in the United States.
  • The airport ranks 23rd busiest in the United States and 59th busiest in the world in terms of passenger numbers.
  • For the first six months of 2008, the airport had the best on-time record of the 32 busiest airports in the nation.
  • There were 422,010 operations (take-offs and landings) in 2007. Commercial operations account for 315,502 of the total.
  • The airport ranks 15th in United States in terms of annual operations and 22nd worldwide.
  • International service has recently grown with new flights to Canada and Mexico. The airport's first transoceanic flight started in June 2008 with Delta Air Line's new non-stop to Paris. A non-stop flight to Tokyo is scheduled to begin in June 2009.
  • There is non-stop service to Salt Lake City's 50 largest markets.
  • There are over 700 scheduled daily flights from the facility serving more than 90 cities with non-stop flights.
  • In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the average annual snowfall at the airport is around 62 inches. Airport snow removal crews have fine-tuned their approach and equipment to deal with winter storms.
    During the record breaking winter of 2007-2008 when the airport received about 73.5 inches of snow, operations were suspended on all three runways for only 3 hours and 20 minutes during January and February (see chart below).
    Typically, one runway is closed at a time for snow removal while keeping the other two open.

  • This record has made Salt Lake City International Airport the recipient of 11 international awards for excellence in snow and ice removal.
  • There are four runways at Salt Lake City International Airport. Three air carrier runways and one general aviation runway.
  • The airport complex is made up of two terminals, five concourses and 83 gates.
  • Wingpointe Golf Course, an 18-hole course set into the natural environment, is conveniently located adjacent to Salt Lake City International Airport.
