The Beehive House

A National Historic Landmark, and a monument to courageous people who conquered the desert. Built in 1854, this served as the official residence of Brigham Young when he was President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Governor of the Utah Territory. Free tours daily.

Capitol Theatre
Location: Downtown
The Capitol Theatre is one of Salt Lake County’s most beloved buildings. A landmark in downtown Salt Lake since 1913, a newspaper reporter at the time described the building as “rich and restful, without vulgar or gaudy display.” Vaudevillians, silent movies, and “talkies,” were the mainstay in the theatre for years. Renovated and reopened in 1978, the Capitol Theatre is known today for its elegant turn-of-the-century architecture and serves as the home for Ballet West, Utah Opera, Children’s Dance Theatre, and Broadway Across America -Utah.

Hope Gallery and Museum of Fine Art

Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center

Social Hall Heritage Museum
Location: Downtown
Discover an archeological dig in underground downtown Salt Lake! Visit the Social Hall Heritage Museum to find out what the early settlers of Salt Lake did for a good time. Salt Lake City's Social Hall was just that, a building dedicated to social gatherings. There settlers shook off the hardships of frontier life and enjoyed music, dancing, lectures, and the company of good friends. The remains of the Social Hall were uncovered in 1991 and a museum was erected to preserve them. A glass enclosure displays the walls of the original building, along with artifacts.
