Situated against a mountain-accented backdrop, the Ogden area is 35 miles from Salt Lake. (North on I-15.) On the way, stop at Lagoon Amusement Park to enjoy a waterpark, Pioneer Village, and a variety of coasters and thrill rides (seasonal). Further north, visit Antelope Island State Park for unparalleled scenic vistas of the Great Salt Lake, picnic and camping areas, and hiking/biking trails. (North on I-15 to exit 332, then west on UT-108.) Historic 25th Street in Ogden is the center of action and attractions in the area. Check out the region’s Visitor Information Center, museums, dining, shopping, and galleries. For outdoor adventure, visit Powder Mountain, Snowbasin, and Wolf Mountain ski areas in nearby Ogden Canyon. (East via U-39, the Ogden River Scenic Byway.) Snowbasin was the 2002 Olympic Winter Games downhill venue. The Ice Sheet, on the Weber State University campus, hosted Olympic curling. (Southeast of downtown Ogden.) Both venues ffer public skiing or skating.
