I’m going to let you in on a secret: If you haven’t visited Utah’s Hogle Zoo Rocky Shores exhibit yet you are missing out! When I first heard about the new $18 million dollar exhibit, I was intrigued, but not convinced I should battle the crowds the day it opened.  I’m here to tell you, it would have been worth it.This exhibit covers 3.5 acres of the zoo’s northwest corner and contains 320,000 gallons of water that is always full of aquatic fun from the animals. Sea lions, harbor seals, otters, grizzly bears, bald eagles and the star of the show, Rizzo the polar bear are all sure to entertain. The underwater viewing area blew me away. The up-close and personal view of Rizzo and Big Guy (the 850 pound, blind California Sea Lion) peaked my childhood curiosity. You’re never too old to experience the joy of a polar bear gracefully swimming behind a pane of glass, so close you can almost be nose to nose.Next time you’re at Utah’s Hogle Zoo look for me, I’ll be the girl posted at the underwater exhibit, nose to the glass, embracing my inner child.Weather you’re a local looking for a fun way to spend a summer day, or visiting Salt Lake, don’t miss this exhibit!Watch my latest video blog on Rocky Shores: http://youtu.be/6090wz8pISo Utah's Hogle Zoo is a participating attraction on the Visit Salt Lake Connect Pass.
