Summer in Salt Lake is usually marked by an increased amount of bicycles, ski boots replaced with flip-flops and for many, The Twilight Concert Series. Every Thursday from July 5 to August 30 you can catch awesome shows for just $5 at Salt Lake’s Historic Pioneer Park. After thunderstorms graced downtown and cooled everything off, I rode my bike down to the first concert of the season Beach House and Walkman. It was easy to see why nearly 33,000 people attended each concert last summer. As I pulled up there was a convenient Bike Valet provided by the Salt Lake Bike Collective. So, I left my bike in the company of all the other bikes and went to survey the culinary options for my dinner. My taste buds were a little overwhelmed with so many options. There was Salt Lake’s popular Chow Truck, Bento Truck and World Dog and so much more. I went with a seasonal ear of Utah’s Sweet Corn and a sweet potato, both delicious options. As I made my way to the stage to absorb the scene and music, libation in hand, a friend described Beach House’s music as “just pure summer music.”While riding home after I couldn’t help but agree: pure summer music was right! The Twilight Concert Series is just pure summer, for locals and visitors alike. If you’re looking to find Salt Lake’s pulse check out the concerts on Thursdays, that’s two full acts for just $5, you can’t beat that.Check out the full line up here!
