PoplarStreet_0331If you are looking for a casual place to play billiards, casually meet up with friends, or just hang out for several hours, Poplar Street Pub could be the place for you. Conveniently located just steps away from the Salt Palace Convention Center, and open late every day, it's a great place for visitors and locals any time.Poplar Street is a fine example of a gastropub. A place where you can just drop in for a few drinks, but also serves high-quality food. As opposed to a restaurant setting, where they like to get you fed and out the door, a gastropub is more of a casual setting where it's expected you will hang out. There are three distinct indoor seating sections, and a great patio, providing several options to fit your comfort level. This is not your typical pub food. Rather than cheap frozen appetizers tossed in grease, you will find a wide variety of tasty small plates, delicious hand-tossed pizzas, burgers, and full-size entrees like steak and seafood. The small plates include snacks for one or dishes to share. Scotch eggs, fish tacos, sliders made with kobe beef, incredible wings, and more. One of my personal favorites are their pub poppers, which is an almond, stuffed inside a medjool date, wrapped in bacon.PoplarStreet_0332Larger entrees include their hand-tossed pizzas, delicious burgers, sandwiches, steaks, gyros, and chile verde. Every dish is expertly prepared with care. Great flavors at reasonable prices. Dishes average between $8-12.Each Sunday, they have an all you can eat brunch buffet. Served from 11am to 2pm, you will find many of your breakfast favorites. So if you're looking for something great to eat, or just a relaxed place to hang out, Poplar Street Pub is open every day for you from 11am-1am.Poplar Street Pub242 South 200 SestSalt Lake City, UTwww.poplarstreetpub.comRead more from Nick Johnson at examiner.com.
